I bought a stamp from Hong Kong, Bauhinia x blakeana is the Hong Kong city flower - commonly known as Hong Kong orchid tree. I painted Bauhinia on a stone in Birsay.

During my two-week stay in the residency, I am interested in capturing the essence and vitality of botanical life through the tactile and expressive qualities of mixed media such as watercolour, acrylic, oil paints, and a flat brush. Within this realm, flowers and plants emerge as my unique motifs, offering a profound source of inspiration and exploration. I aim to achieve a series of works of drawing and painting on paper. The theme is about nature: wildflowers and plants in the Islands.
